I’ve been on college campuses since I was 8 years old. My dad went to college as an adult learner, and I tagged along with him to classes, the library, and in and out of offices while he was getting the support he needed. Those early days sparked my love for higher education, and I haven’t strayed far from it since.
Over the years, I’ve worked in roles like student conduct, housing and residence life, orientation, advising, and academic success. I’ve also taught part-time and full-time, gaining an even deeper understanding of how students learn. After an interesting turn of events on a very unconventional career path, I transitioned into organization development and human resources. It was there that I began working on projects that touched every corner of the institution – from restructuring processes to designing new systems.
That work opened my eyes to just how unique higher education is, with its traditions, governance structures, and sometimes resistant-to-change culture. I was fascinated by how the distinct culture of higher education influences the way we approach change—and how hard it can be to get it right. This realization drove me to dive deeper into understanding change as a field, which eventually led to me earning my doctoral degree in Organization Development and Change from Bowling Green State University.
Now, I get to combine my lifelong love of higher education with my expertise in large-scale change. I spend my time helping colleges and universities navigate change in ways that are meaningful and lasting. I’ve supported institutions through initiatives such as:
-
-
- Opening new campus locations;
- Transitioning to fully remote work during the pandemic;
- Designing flexible work arrangements;
- Overhauling systems like talent acquisition and compensation.
-
I also work with leadership teams facilitating retreats, workshops, and strategic planning sessions to align them around their goals for the future.
What drives me is helping institutions not just survive change but thrive through it. By turning theory into practice, I aim to guide colleges and universities toward sustainable, impactful transformations that prepare them for the future.
